Today marks the 23rd death anniversary of Advocate Badiul Alam, a prominent freedom fighter and politician. Born in 1926 in the Sikder family of Fatehnagar village in Chattogram, Badiul Alam obtained his graduation degree from Calcutta University in 1946, followed by an LLB degree from Dhaka University.
During the Liberation War, he served as the Awami League regional president in Chattogram and later became the Socialist Party’s Chattogram South Division president. In 1972, he was appointed as the vice-president of the Lawyer’s Association, eventually becoming the association’s president in 1981. Additionally, he briefly lectured at the Bangabandhu Law Temple.
In remembrance of his legacy, the Advocate Badiul Alam Memorial Foundation will host a dua mahfil in Chandanaish to honor his contributions.
