A 17-year-old teenager was fatally stabbed in Bogura Sadar upazila early yesterday, as per the police report. The incident occurred at approximately 8:30 am near the Upazila Parishad building in the Matidali area of Bogura town. The victim, identified as Fahim Hossain, a laborer at a nearby foundry, was swiftly taken to Bogura Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries by 11:30 am, according to Monirul Islam, the officer-in-charge (OC) of Bogura Sadar Police Station.
The OC stated that initial information provided by the victim’s family suggests that Fahim might have been stabbed by an individual who had previously troubled the victim’s sister. “We are currently pursuing the suspect for apprehension, and legal procedures have been initiated,” the OC informed the press.
Shahin Hossain, Fahim’s elder sibling, claimed that a local young man had expressed interest in marrying his younger sister, but the family declined due to his drug addiction and her existing marriage. Shahin further alleged that the same individual had previously attacked his sister’s husband. “Today, he ambushed my brother while he was en route to work and inflicted three stab wounds from behind. Unfortunately, we couldn’t save him,” Shahin lamented.
