“Trump Targets Cuba with Potential Tariff Threat”

Date:

US President Donald Trump has issued an executive order on Thursday, signaling a potential imposition of additional tariffs on nations that supply oil to Cuba, intensifying pressure on the island nation governed by a communist regime.

The executive order refrained from specifying the exact tariff amounts or the countries that would be affected, delegating these decisions to the Secretary of Commerce.

Historically, Cuba has been subject to a strict US embargo since 1962 and has traditionally relied on Venezuela for its oil imports. However, the United States has intervened to disrupt this supply chain following the removal of Nicolas Maduro, a key ally of Havana, from power and effectively gaining control over Venezuelan oil exports.

In the wake of these actions, President Trump has pledged to sever all oil and financial transactions with Cuba, emphasizing the urgency for a deal in a stern social media warning.

“I strongly recommend that they come to an agreement, BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE,” the President declared.
