“UCB Appoints M Latif Hasan as Deputy Managing Director”

United Commercial Bank PLC (UCB) has named M Latif Hasan as the new deputy managing director (DMD) and head of the structured corporate department. Hasan will take charge of overseeing the structured corporate division at the bank. Before joining UCB, he held the position of head of corporate banking at Habib Bank Limited (HBL) in Bangladesh. With a career spanning more than 30 years in the banking sector, Hasan’s extensive experience and strategic acumen are set to enhance UCB’s corporate banking services. Throughout his professional journey, Hasan has held key leadership roles at various international and local financial institutions such as Standard Bank PLC, Citibank, N.A., Eastern Bank PLC, and Prime Bank PLC. His expertise lies in corporate relationship management, business growth, credit and risk assessment, finance, and banking operations. Hasan holds a master’s degree in finance from the University of Dhaka and an MBA from Victoria University of Technology in Melbourne, Australia. Additionally, he is a CSA (Credit Skill Assessment)–certified professional accredited by Omega Performance in the United States.
