ByteDance has reportedly postponed the global launch of its latest artificial intelligence (AI) video model, Seedance 2.0, due to concerns raised by companies regarding potential intellectual property (IP) infringements. The Information’s recent report revealed that the company initially intended to introduce the model to international markets in mid-March but has halted the rollout as its legal and engineering teams address possible legal risks.
The tech giant, widely recognized as the parent company of TikTok, unveiled Seedance 2.0 in China in February. Following its debut, short clips created by the model quickly gained popularity online. One such example that circulated widely featured a fictional fight scene between actors Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt. While the video garnered significant attention on social media, it also faced criticism from individuals within the film industry.
