Google made an announcement on March 26 about the global expansion of its Search Live feature to all users, now available in every supported language and region where its AI-driven search functionality is accessible.
This update broadens access to over 200 countries and territories, enabling users to engage with search in real-time conversations utilizing voice and camera inputs.
Google disclosed that the feature is powered by a new audio and voice model called Gemini 3.1 Flash Live, enhancing interactions to be more natural and intuitive. This model is engineered to work seamlessly across different languages, allowing users to communicate with the system in their chosen language.
Search Live is seamlessly integrated into the Google app on both Android and iOS devices. Users can activate the feature by tapping the Live icon located below the search bar, enabling them to ask questions verbally and receive spoken responses.
Moreover, the system incorporates visual functionalities, empowering users to utilize their device’s camera to provide additional context for queries related to objects or tasks in their vicinity. For instance, users can point their camera at a physical object and obtain guidance or suggestions based on the system’s analysis.
Furthermore, the feature is accessible through Google Lens, where users can engage in live, conversational interactions while observing real-world scenes through their device.
