Young cricketer Mukul Choudhary showcased an exceptional performance, hitting seven sixes to score an unbeaten 54 runs, leading Lucknow Super Kings to a thrilling three-wicket victory over Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL match on Thursday.
Lucknow, chasing Kolkata’s competitive total of 181-4 at Eden Gardens, found themselves struggling at 128-7 after 16 overs. However, thanks to Choudhary’s explosive batting, where he scored 52 runs off the last 19 balls, the team managed to secure a nail-biting win.
Choudhary, who was playing only his third IPL game, expressed his gratitude for the opportunity and credited his belief in himself for the match-winning performance. Kolkata, after a mid-innings recovery led by Rowman Powell and Cameron Green, failed to defend the total.
Lucknow’s Mitchell Marsh and Aiden Markram gave a solid start before Vaibhav Arora’s quick dismissals added pressure on the team. In the final over, Arora had the task of defending 14 runs, but Choudhary and Avesh Khan sealed the victory with a winning run off the last ball.
The match saw some impressive performances from both sides, with Kolkata’s Rahane and Raghuvanshi providing a strong partnership before Lucknow’s bowlers staged a comeback. In the end, it was Choudhary’s power-hitting that stole the show and secured the win for Lucknow Super Kings.
