Microsoft is set to discontinue its Outlook Lite app on May 26, ceasing support for the lightweight email service introduced in 2022 for Android devices with limited storage and slower internet connections.
The decision to retire Outlook Lite was made public last year when Microsoft announced its removal from the Google Play Store in October 2025. Current users will no longer be able to use the app starting next month.
According to a support page for Outlook Lite, Microsoft advised users to transition to its standard mobile app. The company recommended switching to Outlook Mobile for a secure and feature-rich email experience.
Microsoft assured Outlook Lite users that they can still access their existing emails, calendar items, and attachments by logging in to Outlook Mobile. Additionally, users will be guided to the Google Play Store to download the standard Outlook app.
