“Deadly Bombings in Northwest Pakistan Kill 17, Including Child”

Date:

At least 14 security personnel and three civilians, including a child, lost their lives in the northwest region of Pakistan due to two bomb attacks and a police-militant gunfight, as per official reports.

The incidents occurred in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Monday and resulted in numerous injuries. These events take place amidst escalating insurgencies along the southern and northern borders of Afghanistan, where Pakistan’s security forces are actively engaged.

Earlier this month, the Islamic State (IS) group claimed responsibility for a deadly suicide bombing at a Shia mosque in Islamabad, claiming 31 lives and injuring 169 individuals.

According to a military announcement and a security official, the recent attacks in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa targeted a police station and a checkpoint.

Militants drove an explosive-laden vehicle into a wall near a checkpoint in Bajaur district, leading to the deaths of 11 security personnel and a young girl, as stated by the military on the previous day.
