“Bangladeshi Band Warfaze Honored with Ekushey Padak”

Date:

Yesterday, Warfaze, a band that influenced a whole generation, was honored with the Ekushey Padak, the second-highest civilian award in the country, for their significant contribution to music. This recognition was a groundbreaking moment for Bangladeshi band music. Sheikh Monirul Alam Tipu, a founding member of Warfaze, accepted the award, highlighting his enduring involvement with the band throughout its evolution.

Tipu expressed his excitement about the nomination announcement earlier in the month, which led to the award ceremony being held on the day. He described the experience of receiving the award alongside his bandmates as truly extraordinary and fulfilling, conveying the surreal feeling of the moment.

During the ceremony, Tipu shared a delightful encounter with Tarique Rahman, who presented the award. Rahman’s familiarity with Tipu as a musician pleasantly surprised him, leading to warm greetings and anticipation for new music from Warfaze. Reflecting on the band’s reaction to the honor, Tipu mentioned the overwhelming emotions felt by everyone, emphasizing that this achievement is not just for Warfaze but for the entire music industry, their supporters, and fans.

Following the postponed ceremony, Warfaze members gathered for prayers and an iftar event, enjoying acoustic Ekushey-style songs and shared memories. A lighthearted moment ensued when the band opted for rickshaws due to traffic and security concerns after the event, adding a fun twist to their day.

Looking ahead, Tipu revealed plans for new music releases during Ramadan and the upcoming ‘Pothchola 2’ track. The band is actively working on multiple releases and preparing for a new album. Tipu acknowledged the band’s fans, attributing the Ekushey Padak success to their unwavering support and encouragement over the years, expressing gratitude for their continued love and prayers.
