The National Citizen Party’s representative, Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuiyan, raised concerns about extensive violence post-election nationwide, attributing involvement to BNP supporters. He criticized BNP leaders for their silence on the matter, implying that their previous actions were aimed at influencing public opinion before the polls. Speaking at Ibn Sina Specialized Hospital after visiting victims of election-day and subsequent clashes, Asif highlighted reports of attacks on voters, property damage, and theft of money and valuables in various regions. He cited an incident where a person was allegedly killed for supporting an independent candidate. Asif expressed disappointment over the lack of concrete actions to control party members and discipline those responsible for the violence. He called for a transparent statement from the BNP detailing the measures it plans to take against any implicated members.
