Nasimul Ghani, previously holding the position of senior secretary at the Ministry of Home Affairs, has been appointed as the cabinet secretary on a temporary basis. The Ministry of Public Administration has officially announced this appointment today.
Nasimul now becomes the 27th cabinet secretary in the country. As per the notice released by the Contracts and Foreign Appointments Wing of the ministry, Nasimul’s assignment to the role of cabinet secretary at the Cabinet Division has been approved. The notification states that this decision, made in the public interest, is effective immediately.
Having served as senior secretary at the home ministry under a contract, Nasimul’s new role as cabinet secretary marks a significant transition. Earlier, Sheikh Abdur Rashid, the former cabinet secretary under a contractual arrangement, tendered his resignation on Saturday.
Following Rashid’s resignation, M Siraj Uddin Mia, the Principal Secretary to the Chief Adviser, assumed the additional responsibility of cabinet secretary while continuing his current duties.
