Director Hridoy Teases Eid Release “Rakkhosh”

Date:

A lineup of films is getting ready for release this Eid-ul-Fitr. As part of a special series monitoring the progress of upcoming Eid releases, filmmakers are providing insights about their projects. Director Mehedi Hasan Hridoy recently discussed his movie “Rakkhosh”.

Hridoy, known for directing “Borbaad” featuring Shakib Khan last Eid-ul-Fitr, has now collaborated with Siam Ahmed for “Rakkhosh”, which is in the final stages of preparation.

“The filming of ‘Rakkhosh’ has wrapped up, and we are currently focusing on post-production tasks. Editing and dubbing are progressing simultaneously. We aim to finalize everything on time and submit the film to the Film Certification Board,” mentioned the director.

Regarding the promotional strategy, Hridoy revealed that an announcement video and a still image of Siam Ahmed have already been released. The official poster is set to be unveiled this week, followed by the teaser and songs in phases.

Production for “Rakkhosh” commenced in Dhaka last December, with a significant segment later shot in Sri Lanka. Hridoy emphasized the dedication of the cast members during filming and hinted at surprises in the film, ranging from casting decisions to an item song.

Describing the storyline, the director highlighted that the film revolves around a “crazy love story” intertwined with family drama. He also mentioned that “Rakkhosh” contains more violence compared to “Borbaad”.

Siam Ahmed stars alongside Sushmita Chatterjee in the movie. According to Hridoy, their on-screen chemistry exudes a natural and authentic vibe.

With multiple films set to hit the screens this Eid, concerns have emerged regarding securing enough cinema halls. Nevertheless, Hridoy expressed optimism about the situation. “Several strong films are lined up for this Eid,” he stated, citing Shakib Khan’s “Prince”, Afran Nisho’s “Domm” directed by Redoan Rony, Raihan Rafi’s “Pressure Cooker”, and “Bonolota Express” featuring Mosharraf Karim and Chanchal Chowdhury.

Reflecting on the success of Tanim Noor’s “Utshob” last Eid, Hridoy mentioned that audience expectations have risen post “Borbaad”. He highlighted Siam Ahmed’s commendable performances in recent films, expressing confidence that “Rakkhosh” will garner significant attention during the festive Eid period.
