“15-Year-Old Sooryavanshi Shatters Records in IPL Eliminator”

Date:

James Franklin, the assistant coach of Sunrisers Hyderabad, praised Vaibhav Sooryavanshi as an exceptional talent during the Indian Premier League eliminator match. Sooryavanshi’s incredible innings of 97 runs off just 29 balls led Rajasthan Royals to a victory.

At only 15 years old, Sooryavanshi not only secured the win but also broke Chris Gayle’s record for the most sixes in an IPL season, reaching 65 sixes in the match, surpassing Gayle’s previous record of 59 set in 2012.

Franklin expressed amazement at Sooryavanshi’s performance and described his potential as remarkable. He emphasized that the teenager still has a long career ahead of him, with the ability to improve and grow stronger in the coming years.

Despite hitting 12 sixes in his innings, including three consecutive ones off Pat Cummins, Sooryavanshi fell short of Gayle’s record for the fastest IPL century by one ball.

Throughout the season, Sooryavanshi has been the leading run-scorer, accumulating 680 runs at a striking rate of 242.85. Franklin highlighted the difficulty bowlers face when trying to contain Sooryavanshi due to his exceptional talent and adaptability.

Rajasthan Royals are set to face Gujarat Titans in the second qualifier match, with the winner advancing to the final against defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru on Sunday.
