Date:

Twelve leading apparel and textile companies from Bangladesh are taking part in the Texworld Apparel Sourcing Paris-2026, a major European fashion exhibition that commenced at the Le Bourget Exhibition Centre in Paris on Monday, as per a statement from the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB).

Twenty-four representatives from these 12 Bangladeshi companies are displaying their merchandise at the event spanning from August 31 to September 2. The EPB is funding their participation, facilitated by the Embassy of Bangladesh in Paris.

Moreover, a business delegation led by EPB Vice-Chairman and CEO, Mohammad Hasan Arif, is present at the exhibition.

The Bangladesh Pavilion was inaugurated by Bangladesh Ambassador to France, Khondker M Talha, on the first day, with EPB Vice-Chairman Mohammad Hasan Arif as the guest of honor. Officials from the Ministry of Commerce, the Embassy of Bangladesh in Paris, the French government and private sector, Bangladeshi trade representatives, and participating exhibitors were also in attendance.

The participating Bangladeshi companies include Komoda Garments, Skylark Knit Composite Ltd, Norban Comtex Ltd, Warptex Bangladesh, BNM Garments Ltd, Fabitex Industries Ltd, United Creation, Febrica Knit Composite, Ducati Apparels Ltd, Chorus Fashion Ltd, Bengal Glory Ltd, and Siam Fabrics Ltd.

This platform acts as a global meeting point that connects garment producers, textile suppliers, technology innovators, retailers, buyers, brands, and designers worldwide.

The involvement of Bangladesh in the event showcases its continuous effort to diversify export markets, promote value-added ready-made garments and textiles, attract international buyers, and bolster commercial ties with France and the wider European market.

On the opening day of the event, EPB Vice-Chairman Mohammad Hasan Arif engaged in a bilateral meeting with the CEO of Messe Frankfurt. On the second day, September 1, he is set to meet with the president of renowned French brand Celio and visit the Première Vision Paris fair.

After the exhibition, the EPB vice-chairman will have meetings with officials from the European Anti-Fraud Office and the Responsible Business Conduct Centre in Brussels, Belgium, on September 2. Subsequently, on September 3, he is scheduled to have discussions on expanding trade with the Secretary-General of the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) and the head of the Responsible Business Conduct Centre at the OECD.
