Arijit Singh to Release Unreleased Songs Despite Retirement

Date:

Singer Arijit Singh, who made headlines earlier this year with his retirement announcement from playback singing, has reassured his fans by revealing that a series of unreleased songs will be unveiled in the upcoming months.

This update follows Arijit’s recent declaration that he will no longer be taking on new playback assignments, a move that disappointed many of his loyal followers.

In a heartfelt message shared on his private X account on Tuesday, Arijit directly addressed his listeners, expressing his gratitude and love for them. He assured them that despite not accepting new projects, there are still numerous pending tracks awaiting completion. The singer promised that these unfinished songs will gradually be released throughout this year and possibly into the next. Arijit encouraged his fans to remain calm, disconnect from social media, engage in activities like reading, loving, and meditating, and left them with a hopeful message about the future.

The news of the upcoming releases sparked excitement among fans, with many expressing joy at the prospect of enjoying Arijit’s melodious voice for an extended period. Speculations arose regarding a potential return to playback singing based on Arijit’s cryptic remark about the future, with some attributing the clarification to recent rumors following the release of “Ek Din”.

Arijit had officially announced his retirement from playback singing on January 27 through a heartfelt message on X, expressing gratitude to his fans for their unwavering support throughout his career.

Shortly after his retirement announcement, Bollywood actor Aamir Khan visited Arijit in his hometown to collaborate on the title track for his son Junaid Khan’s upcoming movie, “Ek Din”. In a video shared by Aamir Khan Productions, the actor was seen pleading with Arijit not to retire, emphasizing the impact his decision would have on the industry.

While some celebrities, like Shreya Ghoshal, voiced their support for Arijit’s retirement decision, others urged him to reconsider his choice.
