Bangladeshi racer Avik Anwar has emerged victorious in the Gulf Pro Car Championship Series 2025–26 by clinching the Renault Clio class title, along with claiming the prestigious UAE Touring Car Champion title, making history as the first Bangladeshi to achieve this feat.
In a thrilling Round 7 of the championship, Anwar dominated the competition in the Renault Clio category, outperforming 10 other drivers to secure the top spot in his class and ultimately claiming the overall championship title for his exceptional season-long performance.
With a total of 377 points, Anwar finished ahead of the runner-up, Maxim Volykin, who scored 207 points in the closely contested championship, featuring a strong field of 40 international drivers.
The climactic final race took place under challenging wet conditions, where Anwar opted to race on slick tires, describing it as one of the toughest performances of the season. The diverse field of competitors hailed from countries such as the UK, Ireland, Germany, India, France, Russia, Ukraine, Pakistan, Hong Kong, China, Italy, and Lebanon.
Anwar expressed that this victory signifies a significant milestone for Bangladeshi motorsport, highlighting the country’s increasing prominence on the global racing platform.
