BNP Candidate Rezaul Karim Badsha emerged victorious in the by-election for the Bogura-6 constituency. Unofficial results from 151 polling centers, including postal votes, revealed that Badsha secured 133,931 votes, while Jamaat-e-Islami candidate Abidur Rahman received 57,159 votes.
Badsha, the Bogura district BNP president and former mayor of Bogura municipality, defeated Abidur, who serves as the Jamaat-e-Islami ameer of Bogura town. Md Al-Amin, the candidate from the Bangladesh Development Party, garnered 526 votes in the Bogura-6 by-poll.
The voter turnout for the election stood at 42.57 percent. The by-election was conducted following the 13th National Parliamentary election and a referendum on February 12, covering 299 constituencies. Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Tarique Rahman, who initially won in Dhaka-17 and Bogura-6, later vacated the Bogura-6 seat, leading to the declaration of a fresh schedule by the Election Commission.
