Team Six Seven from Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) clinched the top spot at the 2026 Business Case Competition, which was co-hosted by HSBC and BRAC University in Dhaka. The winning team was awarded a trophy and a prize of Tk 2 lakh and will now represent Bangladesh in the global finals in Hong Kong. North South University’s Team Arctic Wolves and BUP’s Team Rotten Mars secured the first and second runner-up positions, receiving trophies and prize money of Tk 1 lakh and Tk 50,000, respectively.
The final event was graced by British High Commissioner to Bangladesh, Sarah Cooke, who commended the educational collaboration between the UK and Bangladesh. She highlighted the importance of nurturing skilled talent through academic-industry partnerships. Mahmud Hasan Khan, president of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association, emphasized the significance of such competitions in grooming future leaders for Bangladesh’s changing economic landscape.
HSBC Bangladesh CEO, Md Mahbub ur Rahman, explained that the competition aimed to bridge the gap between theoretical learning and practical application. The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 1,600 students representing 46 universities nationwide, making it one of the most competitive editions to date. The top teams showcased their solutions to a real-world business case before a panel of judges, which included industry experts from companies such as Unilever, Bangladesh Bank, and H&M.
Key figures like Prof Syed Ferhat Anwar, the vice-chancellor of BRAC University, and Mohammad Mujibul Haque, the dean of BRAC Business School, were also in attendance, underscoring the event’s significance in fostering future business talent.
