OTT platform Chorki is gearing up to debut its latest original series “Cactus” this Eid-ul-Fitr. The series has recently wrapped up filming, with the teaser released today, generating excitement and buzz among viewers.
Starring renowned musician and actor Pritom Hasan alongside actor Mehazabien Chowdhury in the lead roles, the series is helmed by director Shihab Shaheen.
The teaser’s unveiling prompted a wave of positive feedback online, with viewers lauding both the platform’s content and the performances of the lead actors.
In “Cactus,” Pritom Hasan takes on the role of Manasiv, a skilled hacker. The teaser hints at his character being a prisoner who, despite being incarcerated, is compelled to resume hacking under unique circumstances. His proficiency becomes vital in addressing a national crisis with government backing.
Discussing the character, Pritom Hasan mentioned that Manasiv undergoes significant transformations throughout the narrative. “I prefer not to disclose too much, but the character embarks on a journey. I look forward to the audience joining me on this journey,” he expressed.
Mehazabien Chowdhury portrays Anura, a character who crosses paths with Manasiv during the mission. The teaser showcases her in a new light, featuring action sequences and a more intense on-screen presence.
Describing her role as particularly immersive, Mehazabien noted that the series offered her the chance to acquire new skills, particularly in action. “I had never delved into action on this scale before,” she remarked, commending action director Edward Gomez and his team.
Director Shihab Shaheen emphasized that “Cactus” combines technology, thriller, and action elements to deliver a unique viewing experience. He highlighted that the focus is on Manasiv, with Anura introducing a fresh dynamic to the storyline.
The narrative of “Cactus” was crafted by Shihab Shaheen, Al-Amin Hasan Nirjhor, Ador Rahman, Asaduzzaman Abir, and Rezwan Kabir, with Shaheen also serving as the screenwriter. The ensemble cast includes Munira Yusuf Memi, Manas Bandyopadhyay, Naziba Basher, Salauddin Lavlu, Shahadat Hossain, Arifin Jilani, Zahidul Haque Apu, and Sanzida Tasnim. Edward Gomez took on the role of action director for the series.
