The 42nd death anniversary of General MAG Osmani, who served as the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces during the War of Liberation, is being commemorated today.
To mark the occasion, a prayer session and discussion will be held at the RAOWA Helmet Hall at 10:30 am, organized by the Retired Armed Forces Officers’ Welfare Association (RAOWA) as per a press release.
Distinguished individuals are expected to attend and deliver speeches during the event, along with retired senior officers of the armed forces.
The program will focus on highlighting Osmani’s life and his significant contributions to the Liberation War.
General Osmani was born in Sunamganj, Assam Province during the British colonial period on September 1, 1918, and passed away in London on February 16, 1984.
He received his education in Assam and Sylhet and completed his graduation from Aligarh Muslim University in India.
