Global Leaders Congratulate BNP’s Election Victory

Foreign leaders have extended their congratulations to the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and its Chairman Tarique Rahman for their overwhelming victory in the 13th parliamentary elections. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar, and Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have all expressed their support and commitment to fostering stronger bilateral relationships and advancing mutual development objectives with the new leadership in Bangladesh.

Modi was the first foreign leader to reach out to Tarique following the BNP’s win, securing 212 parliamentary seats out of 299 in this significant election held 18 months after the previous government was removed from power. Modi conveyed his congratulations and best wishes to Tarique for his success in fulfilling the aspirations of the Bangladeshi people, emphasizing India’s dedication to promoting peace, progress, and prosperity in the region.

Additionally, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio commended the BNP, Tarique, and the Bangladeshi people, expressing the United States’ eagerness to collaborate with the newly elected government to enhance regional prosperity and security.

Other world leaders, including Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari, and Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, also sent their well-wishes and support to Tarique and the BNP for their victory in the polls.

Moreover, various officials from Nepal, Maldives, Bhutan, the UK, and the US, among others, have shown their readiness to cooperate with the new Bangladeshi leadership for the betterment of their respective nations and the promotion of shared goals in areas such as economic growth, security, and climate initiatives.

China also acknowledged the successful election in Bangladesh and expressed its congratulations to the BNP and Tarique, emphasizing its commitment to working collaboratively with the Bangladeshi government to strengthen the bilateral relationship and deepen cooperation in various fields.

In conclusion, a wave of international support has poured in for Tarique and the BNP, signaling a new era of collaboration and partnership between Bangladesh and its global allies.
