Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has cordially invited Bangladeshi Prime Minister Tarique Rahman to pay a visit to India at a convenient time for both parties.
The invitation was extended through a letter dated February 16, which was presented by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla during his meeting with Tarique Rahman after the swearing-in ceremony at the South Plaza of the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban today.
In his letter, Modi expressed warm congratulations to Tarique Rahman on the Bangladesh Nationalist Party’s significant victory in the parliamentary elections and on assuming the role of Prime Minister.
Modi highlighted the enduring friendship between India and Bangladesh, emphasizing the deep-rooted ties based on shared history, culture, and common aspirations for peace and prosperity.
The Indian prime minister expressed eagerness to collaborate closely with Bangladesh’s new prime minister to bolster bilateral relations, promote regional cooperation, and achieve mutual objectives in areas such as connectivity, trade, technology, education, skills development, energy, healthcare, and cultural exchanges.
Emphasizing the potential for both countries to drive each other’s sustainable growth and security, Modi conveyed his optimism for India and Bangladesh to serve as catalysts for each other’s progress.
Modi concluded the letter by extending his well wishes for Tarique Rahman’s health and success, as well as for the continuous advancement and well-being of the Bangladeshi people.
