Date:

Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer and opposition leader Shafiqur Rahman emphasized today that they are determined to ensure the implementation of reform proposals arising from the events of July. He stated that if the government takes the lead in implementing these reforms, the opposition is ready to provide full support. However, if the government fails to act, they will advocate on behalf of the public.

During the launch of the “Clean Dhaka, Green Dhaka” initiative in Mirpur and Kafrul, Shafiqur Rahman highlighted the significance of not disregarding the Reform Council by refusing to take the oath. He underscored the importance of the events in July, which led to the current political landscape, stating that without those events, their roles as leaders would not have materialized.

Shafiqur Rahman stressed the importance of acknowledging July’s significance and fulfilling the reform proposals aligned with its spirit as a crucial duty of the parliament. He expressed determination to utilize their roles in parliament and the Reform Council to enact positive changes for the country, aiming to address societal issues ranging from physical waste on the streets to the mental “garbage” within people’s minds.

Participating in the cleanliness drive, Shafiqur Rahman aimed to convey a message of commitment to constituents and the nation towards fostering a cleaner society.
