“Mexico Deploys 10,000 Troops in Drug Lord Clash”

Mexico has dispatched 10,000 troops to suppress conflicts arising from the assassination of the nation’s most sought-after drug lord, resulting in numerous casualties, as confirmed by authorities on Monday.

Nemesio “El Mencho” Oseguera, the head of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel, sustained injuries during a confrontation with soldiers in Tapalpa, Jalisco state on Sunday, and succumbed to his wounds while en route to Mexico City.

Following reports of his demise, outbreaks of violence erupted, with cartel members barricading roads in 20 states and setting fire to vehicles and establishments.

In the operation targeting Oseguera and subsequent altercations, a total of 27 security personnel, 46 suspected criminals, and one civilian lost their lives.

Moreover, a breakout occurred in a Jalisco prison, resulting in the escape of 23 individuals during an assault by “criminal groups.”
