“Prohibited Group Members Arrested in Chattogram Demonstration”

Eight individuals affiliated with the prohibited organizations Jubo League and Chhatra League were apprehended by law enforcement during an impromptu demonstration in the Kotwali area of Chattogram city today.

Authorities reported that the incident occurred at approximately 6:00 am near the Rifle Club under the jurisdiction of Kotwali Police Station. The detainees were allegedly trying to organize an event on behalf of the Chattogram city chapter of the banned Jubo League.

Those taken into custody included Md. Tushar (20) and Md. Masudur Rahman (24) from Bashkhali; Abdullah Al Noman (20), Md. Rakib (19), Ibrahim Hossain Babu (22), Md. Sharif Hossain Munna (20), and Md. Riaz Hossain (20) from Hathazari; and Syed Hamid Miazi (22) from Satkania.

According to Md. Aftab Uddin, the officer-in-charge of Kotwali Police Station, the group tried to initiate a sudden march with banners early in the day.

“Upon receiving the alert, law enforcement swiftly arrived at the scene and detained the eight individuals along with their banners,” stated the OC.

The police official added that the detainees are presently undergoing questioning to ascertain whether they had intentions of carrying out any unlawful activities within the city. Legal procedures against the eight individuals are in progress.
