Raihan Rafi is gearing up for the release of his upcoming movie “Pressure Cooker” this Eid-ul-Fitr. The third poster of the film was recently revealed on Friday evening, with Rafi taking to social media to share it. In a heartfelt gesture, he announced that the film is dedicated to the memory of the late filmmaker Tareque Masud.
The poster pays homage to Tareque Masud’s renowned work “Matir Moyna” and includes the line: “Which Matir Moyna will sing the song of my liberation? A tribute to Tareque Masud.” Rafi emphasized that this line is central to the film’s theme. Reflecting on the dedication, Rafi expressed, “This film holds a special place in my heart as my first production. Tareque Masud was a significant source of inspiration for me in my filmmaking journey; he was like a mentor to me. Therefore, dedicating my debut production to him felt like the most fitting tribute.”
Expanding on the film’s narrative, Rafi added, “Every character in ‘Pressure Cooker’ embarks on a quest for liberation at some point in their lives, grappling with survival. This film aims to resonate with everyone seeking freedom. It is not your typical art film or commercial flick; rather, it is a unique hyperlink movie that intertwines multiple stories into one cohesive narrative. Such story-driven films are a rarity in our industry.”
The official poster prominently features four leading actresses – Shobnom Yesmin Bubly, Nazifa Tushi, Snigdha Chowdhury, and Mariya Hossain Mehnati – with no male lead, indicating that the storyline primarily revolves around women. The movie is set to depict the individual journeys of these women as they navigate the complexities of urban life in Dhaka, societal challenges, and personal adversities.
“Pressure Cooker” is a production of Impress Telefilm, with Faridur Reza Sagar and Raihan Rafi serving as producers.
