A poignant tale linked to the Liberation War and the essence of the Language Movement is about to captivate TV viewers in the upcoming special drama “Amar Bornomala”.
The narrative centers around Wahab, the offspring of a freedom fighter. During the turmoil of 1971, their residence was set ablaze by Razakars in a sudden nighttime assault. In the midst of the commotion, Wahab’s father handed him a book containing the Bengali alphabet, urging him tearfully to “safeguard my alphabet”.
Although the young lad managed to flee holding onto the book, his parents perished in the flames before his eyes. Since that tragic incident, Wahab made it his mission to honor his father’s legacy by safeguarding and passing on “Amar Bornomala” to future generations.
Crafted and directed by Simanto Sajal, the drama showcases stellar performances by Tariq Anam Khan, Mousumi Hamid, and other notable actors.
The director announced that this special production is scheduled to be broadcast on Maasranga Television on February 21 at 8 pm, coinciding with Shaheed Day and International Mother Language Day.
Interweaving the sacrifices of the Liberation War with the enduring significance of the Bengali language, the drama pays homage to the historical struggle that has profoundly influenced the nation’s identity.
