Tragic Road Accidents Claim Six Lives

Six individuals lost their lives, and a minimum of 17 others sustained injuries in recent road accidents across three districts. In Sherpur, a tragic incident occurred when a mini-truck collided head-on with a CNG auto-rickshaw in Sadar upazila, resulting in the deaths of two individuals, including an assistant presiding officer for the 13th National Parliamentary Election. The deceased were identified as Roknuzzaman Rukon, a junior instructor at Sherpur Polytechnic Institute, and Mahfuza Khatun from Katlamari village in Madarganj upazila of Jamalpur.

The accident took place on the Sherpur-Jamalpur regional highway, leaving three others injured. The injured were promptly transported to Sherpur General Hospital, where two victims were pronounced dead by medical professionals. The remaining three individuals are currently receiving medical treatment.

In a separate incident in Bagerhat, two men lost their lives, and three others sustained injuries following a collision between a human haulier and a truck on the Khulna-Mongla highway at Chulkathi Chaltetola in Sadar upazila. The deceased were identified as Kader Khan from Goaler Math village in Mongla and Lablu Molla from Doarijara village.

Meanwhile, in Faridpur, a bus overturned on the Dhaka-Khulna highway near Suadi village in Bhanga upazila, resulting in the deaths of two passengers and injuries to at least 11 others. The identities of the deceased passengers have not been disclosed yet. The bus, part of the Narail Express line, was en route from Dhaka to Narail with a full load of passengers. The injured individuals were promptly taken to Bhanga Upazila Health Complex for medical assistance.
