Veteran actress Pravina Deshpande, aged 60, passed away on Tuesday after a long battle with cancer. Her family announced her demise through a statement posted on her verified Instagram account.
The statement mentioned that Mrs. Pravina Deshpande breathed her last on February 17, 2026, and her cremation took place on the same day at the Hindu Crematorium in Chakala Parsiwada, Andheri East, Mumbai. The note was signed by Aniruddha, Abhimanyu, Ruchira, and Veer Deshpande.
The Cine & TV Artistes’ Association (CINTAA) also shared their condolences in a social media post, highlighting her membership since 2008.
Throughout her career, Deshpande worked across a variety of platforms including Hindi and Marathi films, television, theatre, and web series. She notably portrayed supporting characters in movies like “Ready” alongside Salman Khan, “Ek Villain”, and “Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran”.
In the television realm, she graced popular serials such as “Ghar Ek Mandir”, “Kumkum”, “Karam Apnaa Apnaa”, and “Kulfi Kumar Bajewala”. Her final on-screen appearance was in the web series “Taskaree”, where she starred alongside Emraan Hashmi.
