In a press conference held at the Abdul Motin Chowdhury Virtual Classroom at DU, Prof Khan stated that he had assumed the role during a critical period to ensure the smooth running of the university’s academic and administrative functions without any disruptions.

Despite his decision to resign, he expressed a willingness to stay on until the next government transition to avoid any operational disturbances due to a sudden leadership vacuum.

His resignation announcement coincides with ongoing discussions on administrative restructuring in public universities following recent political and institutional transformations.

Officials from the university, present during the briefing, assured that details regarding the resignation process and the subsequent transition would be officially communicated in due course.
