“Beloved Street Program ‘Pather Panchali’ Returns with Host Debashish Biswas”

Date:

The well-known street program “Pather Panchali” is making a comeback on Ekushey Television after a lengthy break, with Debashish Biswas returning as the host.

Debashish, who pursued a career in filmmaking inspired by his father Dilip Biswas, gained fame through hosting the popular ETV show. The program stood out for its outdoor setting, where the host interacted with people on the street with clever and impromptu questions.

In response to viewers’ persistent requests, Debashish confirmed the return of a new season of “Pather Panchali” after Eid-ul-Fitr. The relaunch is scheduled to coincide with Ekushey Television’s upcoming anniversary festivities.

Expressing his enthusiasm, Debashish credited the show and the channel for molding his identity in the entertainment field. He mentioned that audiences have associated him with the program for more than two decades and have consistently requested its revival.

Following discussions with Ekushey Television officials regarding various projects, talks about reviving “Pather Panchali” gained traction. This idea progressed into a solid plan to bring back the show.

In contrast to many studio-based productions, “Pather Panchali” was filmed entirely outdoors, moving to different locations to capture genuine interactions. However, Debashish hinted at potential adjustments to the format to align with present-day conditions.

Acknowledging the changes in both the era and his own life stage, he expressed confidence in reintroducing the show in a fresh style that today’s audience will appreciate.
