Bill Gates has decided to withdraw from his scheduled appearance at a major AI summit in India, as confirmed by the Gates Foundation, following his connection to the Epstein files. The foundation stated that Mr. Gates will not be presenting his keynote address to ensure the summit’s primary focus on AI priorities.
The Gates Foundation expressed its unwavering commitment to advancing health and development goals in India despite this change. Instead of Bill Gates, the president of the foundation’s Africa and India offices will deliver the speech at the AI Impact Summit in New Delhi, where Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and tech CEOs are set to discuss the impacts of artificial intelligence.
In recent statements, Gates expressed regret over his past association with Jeffrey Epstein, acknowledging that he regrets every moment spent with him. Allegations surfaced in the latest release of documents by the US Justice Department, including emails suggesting Gates’ involvement in extramarital affairs, which Gates vehemently denied.
Gates’ spokesperson dismissed the documents as part of Epstein’s attempt to tarnish Gates’ reputation, emphasizing Epstein’s desperation to defame individuals. Melinda French Gates also commented that the document release brought back painful memories from her marriage, indicating that any remaining questions should be directed at those involved, including her ex-husband.
The Gates couple finalized their divorce in 2021.
