The movie “Ali”, starring Irfan Sajjad, is scheduled to debut on an online streaming service after its theatrical release.
Bongo, the streaming platform, has disclosed that the film will be available for streaming starting the day after Eid-ul-Fitr. It was initially shown in theaters on July 18 last year.
“Ali” narrates the tale of a man with autism and his sister, emphasizing their deep emotional connection and the challenges they encounter. Irfan Sajjad portrays a character with speech impairments in the movie, relying solely on sign language to communicate throughout the storyline.
In preparation for the role, the actor reportedly put his other work commitments on hold and underwent four months of training before filming commenced to authentically depict the character.
The plot revolves around Roshni, a young woman aspiring to study in Dhaka and achieve independence. Her brother, Ali, on the other hand, is apprehensive about the perils of city life and aims to shield her from its uncertainties. When a tragic incident separates the siblings, Ali embarks on a strenuous journey of survival amidst adversity, solitude, and injustice. Despite the hurdles, he remains resilient, while Roshni tirelessly searches for her brother, eagerly awaiting his return.
The movie stars Protigga as Roshni, alongside Tashdik Nomira Ahmed, Misha Sawdagor, Kazi Hayat, Shatabdi Wadud, and Shaukat Sajal in supporting roles.
Directed by Biplob Hayder, the film reunites him with Irfan Sajjad following their collaboration on the movie “Vhoyal”, which marked the actor’s comeback to the silver screen in 2024.
