Cuban security advisors and medical professionals are reportedly departing from Venezuela amid growing pressure from the U.S. to dissolve the longstanding leftist alliance in Latin America. Sources familiar with the situation revealed this development.
Venezuela’s Interim President, Delcy Rodriguez, has opted to have Venezuelan bodyguards for her protection, in contrast to former president Nicolas Maduro and the late president Hugo Chavez, who had relied on elite Cuban forces.
The Cuban government stated that thirty-two of its nationals were killed during the U.S. military operation that apprehended Maduro on January 3.
