Indian Army Kills Three Suspected Militants in Kashmir

Date:

Three suspected rebel fighters were killed in clashes between security forces and militants in Indian-administered Kashmir on Sunday, according to a statement by the Indian army. This marks the second incident of its kind in the disputed region this month.

The army conducted a military operation in the high-altitude Kishtwar district based on “credible” intelligence indicating the presence of rebels in the area, resulting in the deaths of three militants, as per the army’s announcement.

Security forces also recovered weapons from the site of the operation. Earlier in the month, three militants were also killed in a separate military operation in Kashmir.

Kashmir has been partitioned between India and Pakistan since gaining independence from British colonial rule in 1947.
