“Spy Thriller ‘Alpha’ Starring Alia Bhatt Gets New Release Date”

Date:

The producers of the upcoming spy thriller “Alpha,” starring Alia Bhatt and Sharvari Wagh, have officially announced a new release date, putting an end to months of speculation about the film’s theatrical debut.

Earlier reports hinted at a possible delay to avoid a direct clash with the film “Battle of Galwan,” featuring Salman Khan. There were also rumors suggesting a potential streaming platform premiere for “Alpha.” However, the latest confirmation assures that the movie will hit the big screens.

A fresh poster has been revealed by the producers, confirming that “Alpha” is now scheduled to premiere in cinemas on July 10, 2026. Alia Bhatt took to Instagram to share the news, stating, “#ALPHA 10.07.2026 See you in cinemas.”

The film’s release date has undergone multiple changes. Initially planned for a Christmas 2025 release, it was later moved to April 17, 2026. However, this clashed with the release of “Battle of Galwan,” prompting another rescheduling to avoid a significant box-office clash.

Directed by Shiv Rawail, “Alpha” is part of the YRF Spy Universe, which includes successful titles like “War,” “Pathaan,” and the “Tiger” series. This film is anticipated to be the sixth installment in the franchise, teased with a brief appearance in the post-credits of “War 2” earlier this year.

During the Red Sea Film Festival last year, Alia Bhatt discussed the challenges of leading a major action film in a predominantly male-led franchise. She acknowledged, “Alpha is the first female-led action film in the YRF universe, which carries a certain risk as audiences are more accustomed to male-driven narratives in this genre.”

Apart from Bhatt and Wagh, significant roles in the film will be played by Bobby Deol and Anil Kapoor.

With the new release date set, “Alpha” is now locked for a theatrical release on July 10, 2026, and is anticipated to be one of Bollywood’s major releases of the year.
