“Actress Priyontee Urbee Prioritizes Credibility Over Hype”

Date:

Priyontee Urbee prioritizes credibility in her career aspirations over hype or headlines. With a growing presence in the OTT realm, the actress emphasizes her focus on compelling scripts, intricate characters, and maintaining consistency.

Expressing her unwavering passion for acting, Urbee recalls her academic challenges in an interview with The Daily Star. Despite facing criticism within her family for her academic performance, she channelled that pressure into intense discipline, dedicating up to 20 hours a day to studying for her DU admission test.

Her academic journey in International Relations at Dhaka University not only helped rebuild her confidence but also provided her with a platform to engage in political discourse and appreciate diverse cultures, enriching her perspective as an artist.

While reflecting on her past work, particularly in the film “Neel Chokro,” Urbee admits her preference for roles with depth and uniqueness rather than conventional love stories. She is drawn to morally complex characters, like the one she portrayed in “Apolap,” challenging the notion of a flawless protagonist and expressing interest in exploring negative lead roles if well-crafted.

Recounting a memorable role from her debut project, “Kothay Palabe Bolo Rupban,” where she portrayed a mother, Urbee reveals the emotional toll acting can take, highlighting the depth of connection she felt with the character even after filming wrapped up.

Looking ahead, Urbee anticipates featuring in multiple projects this Eid season, including a seven-episode drama series, maintaining her commitment to diverse roles that showcase her versatility. Her ultimate career objective is to establish a body of work that speaks for itself, signaling quality and worth in any project she undertakes.

Urbee’s current focus revolves around delivering consistency, exploring a range of roles, and collaborating on strong scripts to let her performances shine independently.
