Asus Launches AI-Powered PCs to Dominate Bangladesh

Date:

Asus aims to solidify its presence in Bangladesh amidst the global PC industry’s pivot towards AI-powered devices. Peter Chang, Asia Pacific General Manager of Asus’s Consumer Business, highlighted Bangladesh’s promising market potential due to low PC penetration, a youthful consumer demographic, and increasing interest in cutting-edge technologies. In an interview with The Daily Star, Chang elaborated on Asus’s strategy to integrate AI features into mainstream laptops, address challenges posed by escalating memory and storage costs, and aspire to dominate the local computer market.

Chang revealed that Asus has unveiled a new range of AI PCs in Bangladesh, including the Zenbook series, Zenbook Duo, Zenbook S, Zenbook, and Vivobook series. Embracing the prevailing AI trend, Asus aims to showcase the capabilities of AI PCs to Bangladeshi users and enhance their computing experience.

When discussing the demand for AI PCs in Bangladesh, Chang pointed out that the penetration rate in the Asia Pacific and global markets is already significant and expected to grow further by the end of the year. He emphasized Asus’s effort to democratize AI technology by integrating it into mainstream devices like the Vivobook series, making AI solutions accessible at more affordable price points.

Regarding the industry-wide trend of AI PCs, Chang acknowledged the concerted efforts by key players like silicon vendors and Microsoft to promote AI technology, foreseeing AI as a pivotal use case for computers akin to the transformative impact of the internet.

Responding to skepticism about the genuine upgrade AI PCs offer, Chang emphasized the tangible shift towards AI solutions among Bangladeshi users, underscoring the evolving user behavior and the need for enhanced user experiences in the AI era. He highlighted Asus’s commitment to understanding user needs, reimagining device designs, and continually enhancing AI integration to meet evolving demands.

Chang also addressed the industry’s challenge of memory and storage shortages, assuring that Asus’s robust supply chain management enables them to secure RAM supply despite the market constraints. He acknowledged the potential impact of price increases on market demand but emphasized the importance of user education and value justification to mitigate adverse effects.

Reflecting on the unique characteristics of the South Asian market, particularly Bangladesh, Chang highlighted the youth-dominated technology user base and their budget constraints, emphasizing Asus’s focus on gaming products as a gateway to engage with young consumers. He underscored the importance of integrating premium technologies into mainstream offerings to cater to diverse consumer preferences.

In terms of Bangladesh’s PC market outlook and AI PC adoption, Chang expressed confidence in the country’s growth potential due to the low PC penetration rate, projecting substantial market expansion in the upcoming years. With Asus’s current market leadership and the market’s growth trajectory, Chang envisioned significant growth opportunities for the company to further solidify its position as the leading computer vendor in Bangladesh.
