J-Hope, a member of the renowned global K-pop group BTS, celebrated his birthday on February 18 by generously donating a total of 300 million won ($207,000) to aid underprivileged children, as announced by Asan Medical Center and ChildFund Korea.

As reported by Asan Medical Center, the artist allocated 200 million won ($138,000) to support the enhancement of its children’s hospital. Simultaneously, ChildFund Korea, a non-profit organization focused on child welfare, confirmed the receipt of an additional 100 million won ($69,000) from J-Hope to bolster its initiatives.

The hospital disclosed that the funds will be utilized to enhance medical facilities for pediatric patients, as well as to broaden home-based care and psychological counseling services for children facing severe illnesses.

In a heartfelt message conveyed through the hospital, J-Hope expressed his optimism for the future of the young patients, believing in their potential to shine brightly and encouraging them to overcome challenges and pursue their aspirations freely.

J-Hope has consistently supported Asan Medical Center since 2022, initiating his contributions with 100 million won. Following his recent donation, his total philanthropic contributions to the hospital have now reached 500 million won.

The donation made to ChildFund Korea will be dedicated to granting scholarships to students in J-Hope’s hometown of Gwangju, situated approximately 260 kilometers south of Seoul. The organization will carefully select recipients from Kukje High School and Jeonnam Girls’ Commercial High School who are in need of financial aid. The singer has been actively supporting economically disadvantaged students at these institutions since 2019.

Furthermore, with this latest act of generosity, J-Hope has joined the esteemed ranks of ChildFund Korea’s Green Noble Trinity Club, a distinguished group reserved for donors who have generously contributed at least 1 billion won to the organization.
