“Call of Duty Film Set to Hit Theaters June 30, 2028”

Date:

Paramount Pictures has set a release date for the upcoming film based on the popular Call of Duty video game series, unveiling the project at the recent CinemaCon in Las Vegas. The studio confirmed that the movie is scheduled to hit theaters on June 30, 2028, with Pete Berg at the helm as director and Taylor Sheridan as the scriptwriter. Berg emphasized the importance of authenticity in depicting elite soldiers in the film, aiming to capture both their human aspects and the grand scale of their experiences.

With over one billion players and a remarkable $35 billion in total revenue, Call of Duty stands as one of the most successful gaming franchises in history. Originating in 2003, the franchise, supported by Activision and now under Microsoft’s ownership, has produced more than 30 mainline games to date.

While specific plot details and casting information remain undisclosed, sources suggest possibilities for expanding the Call of Duty universe beyond just a single film to potential television adaptations. Paramount has a track record of successfully transitioning video game content to the big screen, notably with the Sonic the Hedgehog series.
