“Election Success in Bangladesh Earns Global Praise”

The recent elections in Bangladesh have garnered congratulations from the United Nations, the European Union, and various countries, all expressing support for national unity, democratic principles, and the rule of law.

According to Stéphane Dujarric, the spokesperson for UN Secretary-General António Guterres, the UN chief has urged all political entities to capitalize on the election’s positive momentum to reinforce national unity and legal frameworks. Guterres hailed Bangladesh for successfully conducting the elections and a referendum, reiterating the UN’s dedication to assisting the nation in building a peaceful and prosperous future.

The European External Action Service also commended Bangladesh for conducting genuinely competitive parliamentary elections and a referendum in a peaceful environment, highlighting the significant democratic exercise carried out by the Bangladeshi people. The EU emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts among stakeholders to implement constitutional, judicial, and other critical reforms supported by the referendum, emphasizing the pivotal role of the new parliament.

Canada’s foreign ministry lauded Bangladesh as a longstanding ally and partner, expressing commitment to collaborating with the newly elected government and the Bangladeshi populace to advance common goals for mutual prosperity and a better future. The Australian High Commission in Bangladesh congratulated Tarique Rahman and the Bangladesh Nationalist Party on their success in the 13th parliament election and affirmed Australia’s dedication to strengthening the enduring partnership between the two nations.

The German Embassy in Dhaka expressed eagerness to collaborate closely with the new administration to bolster political and economic relations. Germany praised the Bangladeshi people for their active participation in the electoral process and congratulated the newly elected Members of Parliament, underscoring Germany’s ongoing support for Bangladesh’s democratic evolution and progress.

The Embassy of the Netherlands in Bangladesh commended the Bangladesh Nationalist Party and the Bangladeshi populace, emphasizing the robust bilateral ties and the commitment to fostering deeper cooperation. Similarly, the High Commission of Singapore in Bangladesh extended its readiness to engage with the new government.

The Turkish foreign ministry welcomed the peaceful conduct of the elections and expressed hope that the election outcomes and the referendum, monitored by Turkish observers, would contribute positively to democracy, stability, and prosperity in Bangladesh. Turkey reiterated its dedication to strengthening bilateral relations with Bangladesh.
