“Global Leaders Applaud BNP’s Victory in Bangladesh Election”

Leaders from various countries in South and Southeast Asia have conveyed their congratulations to BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman following his party’s decisive victory in the 13th national election.

Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim hailed the election outcome as a triumph of democracy, emphasizing the Bangladeshi people’s clear voice amid significant challenges. He also praised Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus for facilitating a smooth transition of power and expressed optimism for enhanced Malaysia-Bangladesh relations.

Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari extended his felicitations to Tarique Rahman for BNP’s landslide win and commended Bangladesh for conducting successful and peaceful elections, reaffirming Pakistan’s dedication to shared progress through democratic collaboration.

Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake recognized the confidence placed in Tarique Rahman by Bangladeshi voters and expressed eagerness to bolster bilateral ties.

Nepalese Prime Minister Sushila Karki welcomed the election results as a significant achievement and anticipated increased cooperation with Bangladesh in areas of mutual interest.

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu from the Maldives praised BNP’s electoral triumph and looked forward to strengthening the enduring friendship and cooperation between the two nations.

Bhutanese Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay echoed similar sentiments, characterizing the electoral mandate as resounding and expressing faith in Tarique Rahman’s leadership.

Additionally, several Indian leaders extended their warm regards. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee addressed the people of Bangladesh as her “brothers and sisters,” congratulating Tarique Rahman and his party while also extending Ramadan greetings.

Indian National Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge emphasized the deep historical, linguistic, and cultural ties between India and Bangladesh, reiterating India’s commitment to supporting a democratic, progressive, and inclusive Bangladesh for regional harmony and stability.
