The government has adjusted the operational hours of CNG refuelling stations for Ramadan to ensure a continuous gas supply to the power sector during iftar. This decision was communicated through an official notification from the Energy and Mineral Resources Division.
As per the notification, CNG refuelling stations nationwide will be shut daily from 3:00pm to 9:00pm until March 14. This marks an extension from the previous closure time of 6:00pm to 9:00pm, now stretching the shutdown period to six hours from three hours.
The objective of this measure, as stated in the notification, is to tackle low-pressure situations in the gas distribution network and meet the heightened gas demand in the power generation sector during Ramadan.
Furthermore, in anticipation of smoother travel on highways before Eid-ul-Fitr, all refuelling stations will operate 24/7 from March 15 to March 25. Post-Eid, starting March 26, CNG refuelling stations will resume their earlier schedule and close daily from 6:00pm to 9:00pm.
