Miracle Hair Oil Marketed by ‘Naturals by Rakhi’ Using Celebrity Endorsements

Date:

An online business operating under the name Naturals by Rakhi has been aggressively promoting its hair oil on social media with eye-catching claims that it can regrow hair and stop hair loss completely. The company has reportedly leveraged the popularity of several well-known celebrities to market its product, with promotional videos featuring public figures claiming that the oil helped them grow new hair. Critics argue that such endorsements may mislead consumers into believing the product delivers scientifically proven results.

Recently, popular Bangladeshi film actors Nirob and Purnima have appeared in promotional campaigns for the brand. While the advertisements praise the product’s effectiveness, consumer rights advocates and observers have questioned the credibility of such claims, describing them as potentially misleading marketing practices.

Celebrities, Commercial Interests, and Consumer Confusion
An examination of the company’s promotional materials suggests that Naturals by Rakhi markets a conventional hair oil while making claims that it can prevent hair loss and stimulate hair growth. Medical experts generally maintain that hereditary or hormone-related hair loss cannot be reversed simply by applying hair oil and often requires specific medical treatments or therapies.

Critics argue that the company’s use of celebrity endorsements lends credibility to claims that may not be supported by scientific evidence. As a result, many consumers may be persuaded to purchase the product based on trust in their favorite public figures rather than verified medical information.

Numerous complaints and negative reviews have reportedly appeared across social media platforms and discussion groups related to the product.

One customer, who requested anonymity, said that they purchased the oil for BDT 2,500 after being influenced by an endorsement from actress Purnima. According to the customer, after two months of use, there was no visible hair growth and hair fall allegedly worsened.

Another consumer claimed that he ordered the product after watching a promotional video featuring actor Nirob but experienced no noticeable results. He further alleged that after posting a complaint on the company’s page, he was blocked from further engagement.

According to dermatologists and hair specialists, no commercially available hair oil can guarantee overnight hair growth. Experts note that hair oils are generally used for conditioning and maintaining hair health, while the treatment of significant hair loss typically requires medically approved therapies or medications.

They further emphasize that advertisements suggesting guaranteed hair regrowth should be supported by credible scientific evidence. Consumer protection advocates argue that marketing campaigns featuring unverified medical claims can create unrealistic expectations and potentially mislead the public.

Observers have urged celebrities to exercise greater caution before endorsing products that make health-related claims. They argue that public figures have a responsibility to verify the credibility of products they promote, given their influence on consumers.

Consumer rights advocates have also called on the relevant authorities to investigate any potentially deceptive advertising practices and take appropriate action where necessary.

Attempts to contact Rakhi, the founder of Naturals by Rakhi, for comment were unsuccessful, as calls seeking a response were not answered.
