“Venezuela Pardons 179 Political Prisoners”

The national legislature announced on Tuesday that a significant number of Venezuelans who had faced charges or imprisonment for opposing socialist governance have been pardoned under a new law introduced during the transitional period after Nicolas Maduro’s regime. According to Jorge Arreaza, the official in charge of the amnesty implementation, 179 individuals have been released from custody since the law came into effect last Thursday. Additionally, 3,050 individuals who were on parole have had their charges dropped. Arreaza expressed enthusiasm at the swift progress, emphasizing the importance of delivering justice to ensure peace in the country.
