Zakiya Sultana Kornia, with a music career spanning more than fifteen years, has established herself as a well-known and beloved figure in the industry. Initially rising to prominence through a reality show, she has since maintained a steady trajectory of hard work and increasing fame. Known for her frequent live performances both domestically and internationally, she remains a highly active artist, particularly during the festive period of Eid.
“I’ve been extremely busy in the lead-up to Eid,” Kornia shares. “But I’m relishing the hustle. I’ve been filming for various TV channels, and there’s more to come.”
Her schedule is diverse and demanding. “I’m recording music segments for some channels, participating in Eid talk shows for others, and making guest appearances on cooking programs for a few. I’m enjoying the variety. This festive hustle and bustle is something I eagerly anticipate.”
Eid is undoubtedly a time of rejoicing for Kornia. “It’s a major festival for us. Our workload grows during this period, but there’s a unique excitement. My listeners are always eager for something new.”
Looking ahead to upcoming shows, she reveals plans for post-Eid stage performances. “I have a show scheduled outside Dhaka, and I’m currently gearing up for it.”
When discussing live performances, her enthusiasm shines through. “Stage shows bring together a large audience. I adore the energy—you can sense the crowd’s enthusiasm, perform live, and receive immediate feedback. It’s a fantastic experience.”
This Eid, Kornia intends to remain in Dhaka and enjoy quality time with her family. “I’ll celebrate with my dear ones—visiting my mother’s and grandmother’s homes. It’s all about togetherness.”
Reminiscing about past Eid festivities, she becomes wistful. “Eids in my childhood were brimming with a different kind of joy—something irreplaceable. Our home in Jhenaidah was bustling with activity. My father, grandparents, and extended family were all present. We, nearly 50 cousins, gathered together, with large pots of food being prepared. Those memories are truly precious.”
On the music front, Kornia teases an exciting upcoming project. “I’m working on something special and aiming for a significant release this year. I strive to unveil a major project annually that deeply resonates with listeners. I hope to achieve the same this year.”
